Quick Reads is the initiative for adults who have never got the reading bug or who have lost the habit, or indeed avid readers wanting a quick read.
Ten new bite-sized, fast-paced books by leading bestselling writers and celebrities will be published on World Book Day 2010 at £1.99 each so everyone can afford them:

- Doctor Who: Code of the Krillitane by Justin Richards
- Hello Mum by Bernardine Evaristo

- Traitors of the Tower by Alison Weir
- We Won the Lottery: Real Life Winner Stories by Danny Buckland
- Life's Too Short: True Stories About Life at Work Foreword by Val McDermid
- Buster Fleabags by Rolf Harris
Libraries can order the Quick Reads books from their library suppliers. The deadline for orders was 11 January 2010. A copy of the library supply schedule can be downloaded here.
Free Quick Reads packs were also available for libraries to order from The Reading Agency shop. The deadline for ordering the packs has now passed.
