Rosie Goodwin

June - December 2009

As a social worker and foster carer Rosie Goodwin has had first-hand experience of the difficulties that some children face growing up. She cared for over a hundred foster children whilst she brought up her own family, and worked in the social services department after completing a teacher training course. She always enjoyed writing, and had her first book published in 2004. Since then her writing career has gone from strength to strength, earlier this year she wrote the first in a series of sequels to some of Catherine Cookson's classic novels.

Newcastles new city library will be opening in June 2009. It is the largest PFI project in the country . It has a 180 seat performance area and exhibition space. We are now putting together our opening programme for the new city library - what better way to promote your author than to have your author included in our programme which will be the focus of much media attention.
