Awaydays has been made into a major film, which is due for release in 2009. Set in 1979, the novel revolves around Paul Carty, his mystical, Joy Division-loving friend Elvis and The Pack, a mob of violent Tranmere Rovers supporters.

Rosie Goodwin
June - December 2009
As a social worker and foster carer Rosie Goodwin has had first-hand experience of the difficulties that some children face growing up. She cared for over a hundred foster children whilst she brought up her own family, and worked in the social services department after completing a teacher training course. She always enjoyed writing, and had her first book published in 2004. Since then her writing career has gone from strength to strength, earlier this year she wrote the first in a series of sequels to some of Catherine Cookson's classic novels.
