Reading Ahead

Reading Ahead is a reading challenge for young people and adults delivered by libraries and learning settings. It can be run digitally or off-line with printed materials.

Reading Sparks

Reading Sparks ignites STEM interest in children and young people through the power of reading.

Reading Well

Reading Well supports you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing using helpful reading. All books are recommended by health experts, as well as people with lived experience of the conditions and topics covered and their relatives and carers.

Summer Reading Challenge

The annual Summer Reading Challenge is all about reading for fun, helping primary school-aged children across the UK to keep up their reading skills and confidence during the long break from school. It's free to take part, and children can sign up at their local library or online.

Teachers’ Reading Challenge

The Teachers' Reading Challenge is an opportunity for school and library staff to expand their knowledge of contemporary children's books and develop their understanding of reading for pleasure pedagogy.

Winter Mini Challenge

A fun online Challenge for children that boosts confidence and encourages them to keep up their reading across December – February. Collect special rewards for meeting your reading goal.

World Book Night

World Book Night is a national celebration of reading and books which takes place on 23 April every year. Books are given out across the UK with a focus on reaching those who don't regularly read, and are gifted through organisations.
